State-level average residential electricity rates (¢/kWh) with national comparison and a plain-language trend label. Derived from the site's normalized site dataset, based on the latest available U.S. Energy Information Administration residential data.

  • State page path — URL-friendly state name used in site links, such as california. In the downloadable files, this field is named slug.
  • State — Full state name
  • Average rate — Residential electricity price in cents per kilowatt-hour. In the downloadable files, this field is named avgRateCentsPerKwh.
  • National average — US average residential rate for the same period (same units as average rate). In the downloadable files, this field is named nationalAverage.
  • Difference from US average — Percent difference from the US average (positive means higher than average). In the downloadable files, this field is named differencePercent.
  • Trend label — Short plain-language label for recent price movement. In the downloadable files, this field is named momentumSignal.
  • Dataset produced — When this dataset snapshot was produced. In the downloadable files, this field is named generatedAt.
  • Source snapshot — Snapshot label for the upstream data used in the build. In the downloadable files, this field is named sourceVersion.
