• 2026-07-17 — Bill estimator profiles now model two-part tariffs
  Household-profile bill estimates are now modeled the way utilities actually bill: the utility's fixed monthly customer charge (from the itemized hidden-fees dataset) plus a per-kWh remainder anchored to the EIA all-in average rate. At the 900 kWh benchmark the two models agree exactly; away from it, low-usage estimates no longer understate the bill and high-usage estimates no longer overstate it. States without a usable fixed charge (AZ, CO, KS, and deregulated Texas) keep the flat all-in model.
• 2026-07-16 — Itemized Alaska and West Virginia; refreshed Texas delivery rates
  Alaska (Chugach) and West Virginia (Appalachian Power) now have full itemized breakdowns, bringing the dataset to 47 itemized jurisdictions plus Texas delivery-only, and leaving only Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas without one. Alaska's all-in rate was two and a half years stale and rose from 23.47¢ to 25.83¢; Texas was rebuilt on the PUCT's current rate report after Oncor's Docket 58306 base-rate case moved delivery from 5.2974¢ to 6.1196¢ per kWh.
• 2026-07-15 — Hidden electricity fees expanded to all 51 jurisdictions
  The hidden-fees dataset now covers every state plus D.C.: 45 itemized tariff breakdowns (20 with a published energy-versus-delivery split, 25 bundled), Texas delivery-only, and 50 validated all-in rates — every figure sourced from published utility tariffs, regulator filings, or OpenEI URDB, never estimated.
